Originating from the vibrant city of Genoa, Italy, my story is deeply intertwined with the sea. Growing up in the heart of this maritime hub, I was captivated by the sights and sounds of the bustling shipyards and the salty breeze that whispered tales of adventure. The quaint red house depicted in the photo serves as a poignant reminder of my humble beginnings, where my passion for the ocean first took root.
My academic journey was guided by a curiosity for art and construction, leading me to pursue studies that would eventually pave the way for a career in shipbuilding. Equipped with a blend of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience, I embarked on a path of continuous learning. Courses in AutoCAD, CNC operation, and architectural design complemented my practical training in shipwrighting, a discipline in which I earned certification from the esteemed Genoa Port Authority. Furthermore, my dedication to mastering the craft led me to expand my skill set through specialized courses in welding and metalworking.
Following a decade of invaluable experience as an employee, I seized the opportunity to realize my entrepreneurial aspirations, establishing my own shipyard. Here, I dedicated myself to the meticulous design and construction of professional boats, with a particular focus on composite and stainless steel vessels tailored for fishing and port services. Amidst these endeavors, I nurtured a profound appreciation for the restoration of vintage wooden boats, cherishing the opportunity to breathe new life into these maritime relics.
In 2012, fueled by a desire for exploration and growth, I set sail for distant shores, ultimately finding myself in the vibrant landscape of Australia. Over the course of four enriching years, I contributed my expertise to a shipyard in Sydney, immersing myself in new challenges and experiences that broadened my horizons.
Today, my journey has led me to embrace a multifaceted role encompassing metal construction, shipwrighting, and marine surveying. As a certified marine surveyor authorized to inspect vessels exceeding 80 meters, I am honored to be a part of the esteemed Australian Institute of Marine Surveyors (AIMS), where I continue to uphold the highest standards of excellence within the maritime industry.
